Cancun Trip: March 2017
When our friends goofingly asked who wanted to go to Mexico in April during our Super Bowl party Pat and I laughingly agreed not thinking much of it- you know how sometimes people make plans and then forget about it?
Well. Turns out, Val & Eric weren't joking- so we packed our bags and headed to Cancun a few weeks ago! It was Pat and mine's first time in Mexico so we were so excited to adventure somewhere new again.
We stayed at the El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya, It was such an awesome resort and we were so surprised by all of the amenities. If we were to go back we would definitely choose this resort again and again.
We spent most of our days relaxing by the pool or the beach. We were all so good about staying in the moment and not being on our phones or gadgets. It was so nice to be on vacation with people who value the old fashioned fun of just being together and enjoying company.
Just like in Punta Cana I didn't take many pictures. This year I have been trying to make a conscious effort to be in the moment and enjoy these adventures and take still images in my head. There's a song by John Mayer called 3x5, it's one of my favorite songs and is a constant reminder for me to drop my camera and just enjoy the moments as they are. To see things as they are and to embrace the moments.
With the fear of Zika Pat and I were nervous to go to Mexico. We promised each other if we made the trip we would take ever precaution we could to ensure we weren't bitten. I brought a few bottles of Fit Organic Mosquito Repellent with us- we would put our sunscreen on for the morning, let it dry, then apply the repellent. We were so impressed with this and it's safe to say that neither of us were bitten. If you're thinking of heading to Mexico but are nervous about the potential of catching the virus I highly recommend this product. I am going to start keeping one in my purse for whenever I need it here in Texas!
