In the beginning of December Patrick and I welcomed our first baby into the world. We had no idea what we were expecting but when the doctor raised her up and I saw it was a baby girl it was the greatest feeling in the world- I had a gut feeling my whole pregnancy I was having a girl, so having that be true was such a crazy feeling. I cannot believe we have a baby, let alone a baby girl!
Secretly we had names for both genders picked out but we didn't want to share our girl name until we had a baby girl. It was a name I had found years ago and one we both fell in love with, but had never heard, and to be honest I was scared of someone using it before we got to.
Aveline (Av-a-lean) Josie Scales, nicknamed 'Poppy', joined us at 3 am on December 7, 2017, weighing 5.5 pounds and measuring 20 inches long. It was love at first sight.
We are more than grateful for this precious little girl and are so lucky to be her mom and dad. Next Wednesday I'll be sharing my birth story along with more images captured from the day by Hallie Duesenberg (@hallie_duesenberg). I'll also be sharing why we waited so long to share her with the world and a few other fun posts soon! For the next few weeks blog posts will be scattered as I am trying to enjoy every minute with our little babe, I've already seen how quickly time flies and I want to spend every waking minute spending quality time with her.
