Texas & the Trek to Chicago
Last week I snuck back to Texas for the quickest, and most bittersweet trip of the month. I knew I'd only be home for about 48 hours so I kept it on the down- low because I had so much to do in such a short amount of time. It was so sad to not be able to see all of my friends one last time, but I knew if I took the time to do that I would never be able to get everything I needed to do for myself, my family, and our home done... ugh... responsibility and discipline at it's finest *insert eye roll*
While in town I had two family photo sessions, bought our mom car! (be on the look out for a post on that, coming soon!), deep cleaned our home and got it closed up for the rest of the year, along with spent some last minute quality time with my parents. I love those two, and I never feel like I make enough time for them, so I made sure this trip that I was able to spend as much time with them as I could.
My dad and I left Texas before the crack of dawn on Friday with Sophie, Sly & Roscoe in tow. Overall, with pit and snack stops the journey took us 16 hours- woof! It was a treck, but I am so glad that we got to do it together AND that it's over...
We spent the weekend just relaxing with each other, helping the animals adjust to our new place, and hanging out with our friends. I'm so glad my dad is able to stay with us for the next few days, Pat and I love having his company.
We only have one more travel trip planned before sweet Baby Scales joins us. (I cannot believe I just typed that!) Time as flown by so quickly, but we are so, so excited to meet him/her and start the journey through parenthood!
Throughout the next few Mondays I'm hoping to share some of our favorite moments and films from this year, along with keeping up with our typical, quick "keep up" sessions. We have so much we're working on and doing and I cannot wait to share them all with you!
